Range Rover EV: Specs, Prices and Everything We Know So Far

Following its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has given us the clearest look yet at the highly anticipated Range Rover Electric. The first-ever fully electric model from the iconic British luxury brand.

At Your Vehicle Rental (YVR), we’ve been keeping our fingers firmly on the pulse of JLR’s Reimagine strategy. Following our recent time spent diving into the tech behind the scenes at the JLR Gaydon facility, we’ve compiled the ultimate guide to the Range Rover EV release date, estimated UK pricing, technical specifications, and why it is set to become the ultimate executive company car.

Here is everything you need to know about the future of luxury motoring. So far…

The Engineering Philosophy: “Range Rover First, Electric Second”

For decades, the Range Rover has stood as the gold standard for luxury, refinement, and go-anywhere capability. JLR has been incredibly clear: this is not an electric car with a Range Rover badge slapped onto it. Built on the flexible MLA-Flex platform (the same architecture underpinning the current petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid models), the electric version retains the exact presence, look, and interior style you expect, simply swapping the combustion engine for an ultra-silent, twin-motor electric powertrain.

Range Rover Electric Specifications & Performance

While purists might wonder if an electric powertrain can match the effortless performance of a traditional V8, the initial Range Rover Electric specifications paint an incredibly powerful picture.

  • Battery Size: A massive 118 kWh usable lithium-ion NMC battery pack, safely integrated flat within the floor.
  • Power Output: Dual electric motors generating a combined 542 bhp and 627 lb-ft of torque, sending power to all four wheels.
  • Performance: Acceleration is estimated to directly rival the petrol V8 Range Rover SV, delivering instantaneous, linear power.
  • Off-Road Capability: It retains its legendary off-road DNA, featuring an impressive 260mm ground clearanceand sophisticated electric terrain management software.

Range Rover EV Range Miles and 800V Charging Speed

One of the most frequent questions we receive about luxury SUVs is: How many miles will it do on a single charge?

The official Range Rover EV range is confirmed to comfortably exceed 300 miles. While some rivals push for higher numbers by sacrificing vehicle height and aerodynamics, JLR chose to preserve the classic, commanding silhouette and weight of the traditional Range Rover.

Where the vehicle really comes into its own is its charging technology. It features an in-house developed 800-volt electrical architecture. When connected to an ultra-rapid public charger, it can handle a maximum DC charge rate of 350kW. This means you can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes, giving you maximum convenience on long-distance UK motorway journeys.

The Game Changer: Range Rover Electric BIK Company Car Tax

If you are running a business or choosing an executive company car, this is where the vehicle becomes a no-brainer.

The estimated Range Rover Electric price in the UK is expected to start from approximately £130,000. Under normal circumstances, a petrol or diesel vehicle at this price point triggers astronomical tax brackets. However, because it emits zero tailpipe emissions, the pure-EV Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) tax rate sits at just 4% for the 2026/2027 tax year.

What does this mean in reality? It means higher and additional-rate taxpayers can fund a flagship luxury vehicle through corporate salary sacrifice or executive car programmes for a fraction of the net monthly cost of a traditional petrol or diesel equivalent. It is the ultimate corporate tax loophole for 2026 at least!

When Can I Order? Range Rover EV Release Date UK

Customer deliveries and official order books are said to commence toward the tail end of 2026, rolling heavily into early 2027. JLR is also rolling out its new smartphone “One App” alongside the vehicle launch to give drivers a totally unified digital ecosystem for climate pre-conditioning, charging tracking, and navigation route planning.
